Aircraft Ground Power

Connectors   Burton Electrical Engineering's aircraft ground support product line has been produced for over 55 years. Burton was the first company to be qualified to the Military Standards that govern the plugs dimensions and performance characteristics. Burton's first ground support power assemblies were DC which was used in the early days of aviation. The first plugs built had handles carved from wood. Burton later transitioned to rubber molded plugs in the 1940's as AC power was introduced into the aircraft. Burton made the first 400-Hertz rubber molded plugs and was the first to qualify their products to the standards introduced by the US Military. Burton today is the longest continuous holder of its' QPL to build all types of 400-Hertz plugs, 28 Volt DC plugs, receptacles for both and a long list of other plug and accessories. Burton has the broadest line of switchplugs, standard plugs for 400-Hertz and 28 Volts through 270 Volts DC, cable assemblies in both banded and under one jacket cables, along with receptacles for 400-Hertz and 28 Volts through 270 Volts DC. Burton to this day maintains it's QPL with the US Government and, in fact all plugs made by Burton meet the same standards.

Along with fine quality of Burton's aircraft ground support products Burton Electrical Engineering offers technical support to all customers regarding issues surrounding the performance of the products, wear issues with plugs and receptacles, electrical issues including failure analysis of both plugs and receptacles along with the finest engineering for your specialized needs. Burton also produces power management equipment that protects equipment, aircraft and personnel from damage or injury.

Combi BoxBurton has always introduced innovative products to the market place. Burton produced the first aircraft 400-Hertz switchplug, the "Y" assembly, the "Plug Glove", multi-lam contacts and now the "Burton Breakaway System". The "Burton Breakaway" System allows the user of mobile GSE equipment to protect their aircraft from GPU pull-a-ways. The exclusive Burton system allows the cable that is connected to the GPU to separate without damaging the aircraft if your under-trained employee pulls the generator away from the aircraft without unplugging the power cable as long as the cable has been fully deployed from the GPU.

It is innovating thinking from Burton that gives our customers so much more than just a cable in a box. You get Burton engineering with your product. Burton will come to locations of your choice to train ramp personnel, train supervisors or educate your engineers. You are also invited to our plant in either Boston or Los Angles to be schooled.

Burton can lengthen your assemblies or modify them to a new configuration.
